John (1199-1216), ‘Short Cross’ Coinage, Pennies (3), London, class 6bí1, 1.41g, Ilger, rev. +il[ ]r•on•lvnde, a weak area to both sides, otherwise nearly very fine, 1.37g, Ravf, obv. reads henricvsrex/•x• rev. +ravf•on•lvndex, a little off-centre and slightly crimped, fine, 1.40g, Walter, obv. reversed N in legend, rev. +wlater•on•lvnd, dark tone, nearly very fine (N.975/1; S.1354; Stewartby VIb1), the second with an additional x to the legend on both sides, the meaning of which is uncertain, the third a spelling error for the moneyer’s name, both rare (3)
