John (1199-1216), ‘Short Cross’ Coinage, Pennies (2), class 6aí1, London, 1.38g, Ilger, rev. +ilger•on•lvnd, better than good fine, 1.46g, Walter, +walter•on•lv, strictly only fine on account of the facial weakness, but a full round coin, well struck up in parts and attractive with sharp detail (N.974/1; S.1353), the second has the initial mark appearing as a cross patonce, thus it is possible to understand how the mark was fashioned (2)
