LJ large margins all round and showing a trace of the adjoining stamp at left, tied by a crisp and upright red Maltese Cross cancellation to entire, dated 3 Jan. 1841, from London to Thurso and with a fine red scalloped (Sunday) datestamp on the front and arrival d.s. on reverse; small stain from seal visible on the front, otherwise fine. One of the finest known single frankings from Plate IX and an extremely rare Sunday usage. Signed Pröschold, Eichele Certificate (2011). Photo
