1840 (8 May) stampless entire letter, the front bearing handstruck "2", addressed to Messrs Perkins Bacon and Co, By Fleet Street, the contents state "On the 15th of last month we requested 1000 billheads at your convenience, we are now suffering Inconvenience forwant of them.", this delay was probably due to the production of the penny black! which the writer avoided using; vertical filing creases. A fine and most unusual letter. Photo
