1885 (3 Nov.) document, written for, and signed with a cross by, "Hapeni (alias Kolimbo), ruling chief of the Wayao" for the purchase of 1200 acres of land near Blantyre by John Buchanan, bearing Consular 2/6d. and 5/- stamps both cancelled by "british consulate/Arms/nyassa" handstamp with the document witnessed and signed by the British Consul; folded in places with one crossing the adhesives. A rare early document from the colony
