Auction: 159 - The Philatelic Collector's Series Sale
Lot: 1428
#1a, 1871 1c Ocher, Imperforate, impressive full sheet of 150 (10x15) possessing full selvages all around, blue "Controle/T.P." oval control marking at top right, this being the right pane of the double pane sheet of 300 as printed, wonderfully intact without folds which is unusual for a sheet of this size, without gum as most imperforate multiples are, fresh with strong color, inconsequential selvage tear at top that does not affect any stamps, very fine and choice; it was believed that the last full press sheet of 300 with gutter between the panes was broken into gutter multiples, however an intact sheet of 300 has been discovered (see the next lot); the sheet offered here is the better of only two individual panes of 150 believed to be intact; an excellent exhibition piece.
