#15, 1914 5/- on 5M Slate and carmine, first setting, a select sound mint example of this rarity, gorgeous rich colors, quite well centered, clean o.g. that has been lightly hinged, very fine: it is believed that a mere 30-35 stamps of the 5M German New Guinea were surcharged of both spacings combined; signed Champion and accompanied by 1959 RPS certificate (S.G. #15; £14,000).
