Charles I (1625-49), Oxford, Unite, 9.05g, 1644, B-J die X, i.m. plume with bands on obverse only, .carolvs. d: g: mag: bri: fr: et. hib: rex., crowned bust left, holding sword and olive branch, value xx behind, rev. .exvrgat devs. dissipentvr. inimici., Declaration in three lines on continuous scroll, relig: prot: leg: ang: liber: par:, three plumes above, date and ox below (N.2389; SCBI 33, 853 same dies; Schneider 325 same dies; S.2735), a truly exceptional example of a Charles I Oxford Unite, crisply struck on a full round flan and with an exceptional portrait, extremely fine, and perfectly complimenting the superb Triple Unite, lot 16 in the first part of this collection
