1d. scarlet, block of eighteen (6 x 3) from the top of the sheet, affixed to a piece of stationery with embossed Royal Crest and typewritten "I certify that the attached sheet of 1d. stamps were the first of that value sold at the British Empire Exhibition 1925" and signed F. Gibbbins Postmaster. The block tied by two strikes of the "british empire exhibition/wembley/9 may/1925" first day cancellation in the margin at top; a little creased in the margin and some split perfs. between the stamps and margin at right, the sheet of stationery with creases and punch hole at upper left; fine.
