1929 (8 Feb.) radio card from Postmaster G.N. Grey, franked ½d. with "verneukpanspeed way" cancellation, 1929 (9 Feb.) piece franked 1d. with "verneuk pan/speedway" c.d.s., 1929 (13 March) envelope registered to Cape Town, franked 1/- with "verneuk pan/v.p.n." cancellation; fine. Also 1925 (1 May) envelope from Cape Town to Sea Point with "air mail saves time" slogan cancellation. Not flown

Note: Verneuk Pan was the location for Sir Malcom Campbell's unsuccessful attempt to break the world speed record in the "Blue Bird". A field post office, under the control of Mr. G.N. Grey, was established to use any means at his disposal for the dispatch of mail matter.
