The Rifle Brigade Lagos Hausa Expeditionary Force Kumasi Ashanti via Cape Coast Castle", bearing 1887 2½d. purple on blue cancelled with "625" duplex, Cape Coast transit c.d.s. (16.11) on reverse; tears at top through opening though rare item of incoming mail. Also Gambia 1898 (22 Apr.) Post Office Department OHMS envelope (224x96mm.) from Bathurst to Germany, handstamped "on post office business only." at upper left and showing "bathurst/gambia" c.d.s. alongside Marseilles transit c.d.s. (5.5), Aue arrival c.d.s. (8.5) on reverse
