1860s envelope (271x116mm.), originally marked as containing "Law papers" registered from Kandy to "Wiharregalle, Happootelle", bearing 1857-59 2d. green with large margins on three sides and in combination with 1861 intermediate perf. 14 to 15½ 1/- slate-violet, both placed inverted and cancelled by oval of bars, the reverse with red wax seal (largely intact) inscribed "Kandy Post Office" alongside the original senders seal, and an indistinct c.d.s.; the envelope with some creases and stains, nevertheless a remarkable and very rare combination of imperforate and perforated stamps.
