1855 envelope registered to France and redirected internally, variously rated and showing a good strike of the Crowned Circle, two "Crowned/registered" handstamps, "chargé" handstamp, oval-framed "pd", two London datestamps (6.9) and Calais c.d.s. (7.9), the reverse (one flap missing) with three French datestamps; the envelope with overall soiling and other small faults though full of character and a rare item of registered mail showing the Crowned Circle.
