1842 (24 Feb.) printed "going going gone for one/penny" envelope, depicting a rider being thrown by his horse, franked 1841 "Black" Plate 5 1d. red-brown, CK, small to good margins all round and tied by a superb black Maltese Cross cancellation, addressed to Russell Square, London and with Horndean double ring d.s. on reverse; pressed horizontal filing fold at foot, well clear of the adhesive, otherwise very fine and most appealing.
