1856-67 "Hidalgos" interesting assembly (c. 200, mostly mint) featuring the 1859, 1861 and 1867 issues with and without overprints, including the valuable values with 1867 provisionals including ½r. used (signed Champion) and rare 8r. green on red brown used (signed Aguirre), other valuable high denominations with duplication, several rare districts in the first and second issues, few better cancellations such as Tuxpan in oval on 1861 8r. green on red-brown, better shades and some varieties. The lot is enriched by four unusual covers featuring different frankings with the 1867 provisional issue of Mexico city, including one with two examples of 2r. Catalogue value in Follansbee exceeding US$ 20,000. Generally in fine condition. Viewing recommended.
