1930 (1 June) envelope (Victoria Falls Hotel imprint on flap) from Livingstone to California franked at the surface rate of 7d. with ½d. (2), 1d. (2) and 2d. (2), and with U.S.A. Air "Beacon" 5c. (2, one creased) with one partially affixed under the two ½d. values, the Postage values cancelled by Livingstone c.d.s., the two U.S. values cancelled by indistinct oval obliterators, upon arrival redirected to New York with arrival c.d.s. (3.7) tying one 5c. value. An unusual cover and the first that we recount having offered carried on accelerated by air system. Photo
Note: The two U.S. Air stamps affixed prior to despatch from Livingstone with the cover carried under the scheme whereby mails for overseas, instead of being carried by slower surface transport , could be accelerated by air within the U.S. provided that the current air fee was pre-paid with U.S. stamps
