Pitcairn Aviation, founded by Harold Pitcairn, was an important early manufacturer of fixed wing aircraft, air services operator, and a pioneer in helicopter technology. In partnership with Spaniard Juan de la Cierva, Pitcairn developed the Autogiro. Civilian and military aircraft production continued through WW2.
