In 1874 the company was founded by taking over the 1847 erected sugar factory and refinery in Glauzig, a village and a former municipality in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. In 1946 the production facilities were part of the reparations to the Soviet Union.
