Lieutenant George Rutter, served with the Royal Army Medical Corps during the Great War on the Western Front from 24.3.1915; awarded the Meritorious Service Medal whilst serving with the 2nd Field Ambulance in Italy; promoted Lieutenant, 1.2.1941, and served with the 36th (Wednesbury) Battalion, Staffordshire Home Guard.
