Private George Pontin, enlisted in the Welsh Regiment, and served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War in the Balkan theatre of War from 9.8.1915; subsequently served with the 1st (Aberdare) Battalion, Glamorganshire Home Guard.

Lieutenant Donald Meacock, born Newport, Monmouthshire, November 1896; educated at Berkhampstead School, Hertfordshire; enlisted in the Royal Fusiliers, 4.9.1914, and served during the Great War on the Western Front from 14.11.1915; Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Rifle Brigade, 26.9.1916; suffered gun shot wound to the right arm and forearm on the Western Front, 4.4.1918; subsequently served with the 14th (Swansea) Battalion, Glamorganshire Home Guard.

R4-069393 Private Francis George Pole, born 1896; enlisted in the Army Service Corps, 5.8.1915; transferred to the Reserve, 13.6.1919; subsequently served with the 9th (Merthyr) Battalion, Glamorganshire Home Guard, 9.7.1940 - 31.12.1944.
