502002 Sergeant Algernon William Pritchard, M.M., born Evesham, Worcestershire, August 1855; educated at King Edward VI Grammar School, Birmingham; served during the Great War with the Royal Engineers on the Western Front; a trophy winning Horticulturalist and Cyclist in the Bourneville & Birmingham area; later awarded the I.S.M. for services as a sorting clerk and telegraphist in the Weymouth, Dorset.
