Highrs.), additional blank 'clasp' attached above OFS clasp on QSA, light contact marks and minor edge bruising, otherwise very fine (3)

4007 Private S. McMillan, served with the 1st Battalion Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders in the Sudan, where he took part in the Expedition to Khartoum, 1898, and in South Africa; invalided to England and entitled to a two-clasp Queen's South Africa Medal; most of the rest of the Battalion received three clasps to their medals, therefore possibly explaining the inclusion of the blank 'clasp' in his group.
