#224, 1922 20R on 15k Red brown and deep blue, imperforate, an incredibly rare mint horizontal pair, being positions 8-9 from the sheet, large balanced margins all around, rich luxuriant colors and deeply etched impressions, full o.g., trivial h.r., extremely fine; even a single example of this stamp is very scarce, but a multiple of any size is a true rarity, and given the current vibrancy of the Russian market, we expect the hammer price to bear little resemblance to the current Scott catalog value; 1993 Mikulski certificate (Michel #202BI; Ç8,000+).
