#2, 1840 2p Blue, an incredibly rare unused right sheet-margin horizontal pair with partial imprint, other margins quite ample, deep luxuriant color and an especially intense impression on fresh white paper, horizontal crease, certificate mentions the creased area has been painted in blue but that is very faint and not at all distracting, very fine appearance; any imprint multiple of the 1840 Two Penny Blue is of the utmost rarity; 1985 PESA certificate; cataloged simply as two singles (S.G. #5; £32,000+).
