#12, 5c Red brown, choice single with four large margins and deeply rich color, tied by New Orleans c.d.s. and French transit pmk. on 1856 folded cover to Cognac, France, with embossed wine merchant´s corner card of S. Wolff, New Orleans at top left, appropriate transit markings, a few faint bleach spots of no importance, very fine; a handsome usage, not only for the gem stamp, but also it is believed to be unique with the wine merchant´s corner card; clear 1989 and 2007 PF certificates; ex-Grunin.
