1863 (9 May) envelope from Bedford to London, bearing 1855-58 1/- deep dark green with clear to large margins, well tied by triangular obliterator, showing red crayon "11", London Paid c.d.s. in red and, on reverse, despatch and Cape Town datestamps in red; the envelope with closed tears and other faults, mostly on the reverse.
