1900 (28 July) envelope (light foxing), complete with letter from L.J. Street of "D" Company at Johannesburg to his sister in Ottawa, marked "No stamps available" and showing F.P.O. 1 c.d.s. and light oval-framed "canadian contingent/south africa" datestamp in violet, arrival c.d.s. (30.8) on reverse; the letter includes "Our friend De Wet (?) was quite considerate indeed only burning half your letter..."
