Hong Kong
1908 (23 Oct.) Japanese picture post card sent from "The Saddle Islands" via Siberia to Plymouth, bearing Hong Kong K.E.VII 4c. tied by Shanghai B.P.O. c.d.s.; the card with small tear at side. Unusual

Note: The Saddle archipelago consists of a group of islands lying about thirty miles east of the mouth of the Yangtsze, varying in size from barren pinnacles of rock to picturesque islands many miles in circumference. The islands all bear local names, but the group has been named by foreigners "The Saddles," from supposed similarities in conformation to articles of equine equipment. The large islands are the North, South, and East Saddles. The islands are the last of the land between the China coast and Japan.
