1871 (4 Mar.) envelope from Charlotte Town to Hitchin. bearing 1862 (Nov.) perf. 11½-12 3d. blue (2) paying the single letter rate to U.K. via New York, cancelled by Type P144 obliterator, showing Type P80 d.s. and "paid/liverpool/br. packet" c.d.s. (19.3) in red with arrival datestamp on reverse; the envelope and stamps torn through horizontally upon opening and repaired. The only recorded example of this rate which was equal to 4d Stg. Vincent Greene Foundation Certificate (2004). Photo
