1792 (19 Sept.) double rate entire letter ex the "Douglas" correspondence from Hamilton to Prince Edward Island, addressed to "Island of St John, Gulf of St. Lawrence" via an agent in Halifax, marked "Pd 3/8" in red ink and "1/6", showing red London double-ring "paid" d.s. and, on reverse, fine "halifax/n: scotia" split double-ring d.s. of 12 November 1892 (crossed by vertical filing crease); some minor wear along folds.
