Italy, Venice, Alvise III Mocenigo (1722-32), Ducato, undated, Doge kneeling before St Mark, rev. Lion of St Mark, qv in exergue for mintmaster Vincenzo Querini (Dav.; Paol.17-R3), badly struck as is usual, very fine, very rare

The silver coins of Alvise III Mocenigo are all rare. Vincenzo Querini was mintmaster in 1722 and it is believed that these coins were struck to mark the occasion of the Doge's election.
