Cnut (1016-35), Penny, 1.02g, quatrefoil type, London, Goda, +cnvt rex angl., crowned bust left of very crude style within quatrefoil, rev. +goda lvn, long cross voided on quatrefoil with pellets on cusps, trefoils in legend (Hildebrand 2365; SCBI 14 Copenhagen 2528; N.781; S.1157), pecks on reverse, good metal, nearly extremely fine and a very peculiar piece with large lettering and a particularly crude execution, the possibility of a Scandinavian origin has to be considered
