Lot: 377

(g) India, Sikh Empire, AV Token, 14.26g, Guru Nanak seated under a tree, with companions Mardana, playing a rebab and Bala Sindhu holding a chowri, sandals and water pot below, rev. Guru Gobind Singh seated left holding a hawk, legend sat kartar above, date VS1804 (1747) below (Herrli T6), struck from rusty dies, good extremely fine

The date is linked to Ahmad Shah Durrani's invasion of the Punjab, and Jassa Singh Ahluwalia proclaiming the Dhal Khalsa. However it is likely that these tokens, athough commemmorating this event, were issued some time later.
