1445171 Sergeant J. Parren served as a Medic during the Korean War; he was wounded, 'whilst on patrol in the 'Orange Grove' in Cyprus. Vehicle on patrol was blown up on land mine resulting in one officer killed and two O/R wounded. Sgt. Parren was hit in the head by splinters and lost the use of his right ear'; he was discharged to pension on medical grounds, 28.8.1959.
