Assam, Śiva Simha, octagonal Rupees (3), no queen, Sk. 1637 ( 2), 1638, legends in four lines on each side: Śri Śri Hara/ Gauri Pada/mbuja Madhuka/rasya, rev. Śri Śrimat/ Svarga Deva Śi/va Simha Nripasya/ Śake 1638, lion at bottom running to right (RB. G4.1, G5.1, G6.1; KM. 51), very fine, scarce (3)
The Rupees from the first few years of the reign are all scarce. The two Rupees dated Sk 1637 differ slightly in the layout of the word ŚrĪmat in the top line of the reverse: G4.1 has the last letter of the word on the second line, while the other Rupees have it all engraved on the first line.
