1840-79, a well-presented collection of line-engraved issues neatly arranged in an album, contained in a carton, including 1840 1d. Mulready used, 1d. black (14, with one on envelope addressed to Ireland), 2d. blue (4), 1841 1d. range with blocks/strips, covers and postmark interest, 2d. (47, with a pair, a single on 1845 entire addressed to the Winchester Stamp Office from the the Cowes Stamp Office and 1847 entire with vertical strip of four in combination with 1d. addressed to Cape of Good Hope) and later perforated issues; also literature with "The Postage Stamps of Great Britain" Parts 1 and 2 published by the R.P.S. and "Twopence Blue Studies of Plates 1 to 15" by H. Osborne. Condition variable. An interesting lot well worth closer inspection. (hundreds)
