1857 (25 April) envelope addressed to The Royal Observatory Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, franked 1854 1/- blue, 1854-55 6d. dull orange, both touched or slightly cut into, tied by "3" in barred circle cancellations, on reverse Castlemaine (25.4) and Melbourne (28.4) datestamps and red Cape Town (19.9) arrival datestamp; vertical filing fold well clear of the adhesives, some stains and a little roughly opened, scarce.
