Posted at Sea: 1835 (11 Dec.) long letter headed, "Ship President at Sea" to Wetmore in Canton, the letter opens, "We are half passage over and hope to reach England in about ten days ...", the contents are mainly of a business nature; the back of the cover bearing a strike of "godwin & lee/london" struck in blue and the front with a slightly smudged strike of the boxed chop of the firm Hua-mo in red; central folding crease.
