Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Phillip Geoffrey Powis Hill), nearly extremely fine
Major Phillip Geoffrey Powis Hill, born Norristown, Pennsylvania, United States of America; served during the Boer War as an Assistant Remount Officer during operations in the Cape Colony, November 1900 to June 1901, and in the Orange River Colony, April to May 1902; Commissioned Second Lieutenant, Worcestershire Regiment, 4.5.1901; promoted Lieutenant, 5.11.1902; emigrated to Neutral Bay, Sydney, NSW, and served during the Great War in the Gallipoli theatre of War with the 1st Battalion Australian Infantry, A.I.F.; died of wounds received at Gallipoli, 9.6.1915, and is buried in Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
