11740 Lance Corporal Andrew Tolmie, born Portree, Inverness-shire; served with the 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry during the Great War on the Western Front from 30.11.1914; killed in action on the Western Front, 18.3.1915, at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle- during the week 11th-18th March the Battalion suffered 8 Officers and 109 men killed, and is commemorated on Le Touret Memorial, France.
