It has been pointed out that the weight of this coin (12.54 g or 193.49 grains) is the standard set for gold coins circulating as Sixty Six Shillings in the Virgin Islands at this time (192 grains minimum). The coin should therefore be regarded as a piece for circulation in the Virgin Islands, not for Portugal.
