1840 (9 May) a99 to Liverpool cancelled by an oily strike of deep carmine-red Maltese Cross, backstamped Cambridge despatch c.d.s. on flap which opens for display and with manuscript 2d more to pay" crossed through (this cover is already prepaid); light vertical crease and some light soiling around the fold, and small repair on front panel re-enforced with hinge.
