Straits SettlementsCovers and Cancellations1838-1901 entire letter, envelopes (7) and a postcard, including 1838 entire letter from Singapore to London, rated "1/-" and showing framed "india letter/dover" in red on reverse; 1851 envelope to York, rated "1/10" and showing smudged boxed "singapore/Bearing" on reverse; 1889 (14 July) and (Aug.) envelopes from Penang to India bearing 8c. and 5c. cancelled by manuscript date and dumb obliterator and oval of bars respectively; 1898-99 envelopes (2) from Singapore to India, both bearing 8c. tied by c.d.s.; also 1876 (Aug.) envelope from Kent to Singapore bearing GB 2d. and 1/- and showing red "singapore/paid" c.d.s. on reverse.
