Straits SettlementsIndia used in Penang1856 (20 Oct.) entire to Canton, bearing 1854 1a. red Die I strip of three with good to large margins and showing portion of adjoining stamp at foot (crossed by very light filing crease), cancelled "B/147", showing manuscript "4d" and, on reverse, "penang/p.o." double-ring d.s. in red and Hong Kong transit c.d.s. (2.11). A fine and unusual underpaid cover as the rate to China was increased from 3 annas to 4 annas on 1 January 1856. Photo
