1840 Two Pence BluePlate 1Covers1840 (25 Aug.) 2d. Mulready envelope (a199) addressed to Lady Louis, Malta "via Falmouth" bearing RG, RH, RJ-RL in deep blue, the margins are generally large to enormous, close on a couple of sides and the two single stamp are just overlapping; cancelled by very pale strikes of red Maltese Cross with a good strike of "No.17" in black alongside; the reverse with a fair strike of "bristol/25 au 1840/py. post" in red. Some soiling on the reverse, a fine and dramatic cover from this famous correspondence
