1840 One Penny BlackPlate IaCovers1840 (10 May) wrapper to London bearing QF in a deep black shade, good to very large margins and tied by a double strike of bright red Maltese Cross, the reverse with faint Coventry "MY 10/1840" despatch datestamp with London arrival (11.5). There is a very heavy vertical filing crease, tear ar top and light soiling. Nevertheless an appealing cover from the rare first Sunday in May. Cat. £65,000
