Walton. 2/Middx: R.), very fine Estimate £ 200-250 Sergeant L-5839 Sergeant George Cecil Walton; born Weedon, Northamptonshire; served with the Middlesex Regiment during the Great War on the Western Front from 7.11.1914; killed in action on the First Day of the Battle of the Somme, 1.7.1916, whilst serving with the 4th Battalion, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
