Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, four clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Transvaal (33439 Gnr: M.T. Edwards, U Bty., R.H.A.), edge bruising, otherwise good very fine Estimate £ 240-280 33439 Gunner M.T. Edwards (latest published transcription of casualty roll erroneously gives initial as ´F´) served with U Battery, Royal Horse Artillery during the Second Boer War, and was taken prisoner of war with ´practically the whole personnel and five guns´ at Sannah´s Post, 31.3.1900; he ´Died of Disease Whilst Prisoner of War in Pretoria June 1900´ (service papers refer).
