Queen´s South Africa 1899-1902, no clasp (J. Griffin. C.G.R.), very fine Estimate £ 60-80 Served as a Driver for the Cape Government Railway, and was ´Working 21 down on 4.5.1901 - train derailed at 161 miles and destroyed by Boers. Afterwards working trains through district invaded by the enemy´ (WO 100/279 refers).
