1860-C 5 Dollars. XF Details, Polished. Given the diminishing gold returns from Carolina mines, Charlotte Mint production began to noticeably decline until its last production year in 1861. That said, this example remains scarce, even when compared to many other C-Mint issues. The strike, while soft for the series, is above average for the date, and the fields have been polished to show reflectivity. A notable opportunity for the date collector.
